History

As the company continues to expand, we do not neglect that our past judgments have positioned us at the forefront of the industry.

The company’s key milestones are set out below:

Year 1967

Registered as a limited company on May 19, with a registered capital of 3 million baht, for the production of car and truck bodies and parts
Year 1981

Signed a technical collaboration contract with the Japan-based Shin Meiwa Industry Co., Ltd. for the production of hydraulic and mechanical systems
Year 1986
  • Obtained the Industry Ministry’s approval for the assembly of modified vehicles
  • Signed a contract on technical collaboration for die design and production with the Toyota Auto Body Co., Ltd., Japan
Year 1990

The Sammitr Special Truck Co., Ltd. was registered for the production of trailers, semi-trailers and special-purpose trucks
Year 1992
  • Designed and produced axles for the company’s own production of trailers and semi-trailers, as well as for distribution to our customers
  • Invested in China by registering an affiliate and joint venture company. All business in China was handled by Changchun Sammitr Motors Co., Ltd. (CCSMM), which is fully owned subsidiary of the company.
Year 1994

Signed a contract on technical collaboration with Toyota Auto Body Co., Ltd. for the production of dies and fixtures using the CAD/CAM system
Year 1995

Designed, produced and distributed steel canopies for pick-up trucks
Year 1997

Initiated R&D in NGV engines, NGV conversion kits and the assembly of NGV trucks
Year 2002

CCSMM commenced an NGV conversion kit-installation service for Volkswagen and Audi sedans for a major Chinese car assembler - - FAW-Volkswagen Automobile Co., Ltd.
Year 2005
  • Awarded ISO 9001 : 2000 quality management certification for our dies, steel canopies, dumpers, trailers, semi-trailers, axles and hydraulic systems.
  • Awarded ISO/TS 16949 : 2002 automobile industry quality management certification for our pressed parts
Year 2006
  • Awarded ISO 14001 : 2004 environmental management certification for our steel canopies and pressed parts
  • Commenced commercial production and distribution of MPT
Year 2007
  • Commenced production and distribution of NGV trucks and associated services in NGV kit installation and retrofit NGV
  • Registered as a public limited company on April 26
